Tuition and Funding
An investment in your future
Congratulations on your decision to take your education to an even higher level. Your graduate school investment will definitely pay off in the future, but perhaps you’ve got some questions about how to cover the costs right now. South Dakota State University's premier graduate school education is offered at some of the most affordable tuition rates in the region. We also provide a multitude of funding sources for graduate students to help fund their education.
A graduate student must be admitted as degree seeking student and be taking at least five credits per semester to be eligible for Federal Loans. Any prior student loans must be deferred. If you are not taking at least 5 credits, you may fill out a load certification form to certify your academic related workload, assistantships and/or thesis/dissertation work, which can then be taken into account in addition to your credits. Contact the Graduate School Office about getting a load certification form.
Graduate assistantships, fellowships and trainee programs are handled by the specific academic department or program involved. Please contact the department to which you will apply directly to learn about the funding resources they have available.
