The Support Desk answers computer-related questions received via telephone, email, lab monitors, and walk-ins; from a faculty, staff and a student base.

HEAT
A problem-tracking program called HEAT is used which tracks information regarding computers on campus, any previous problems, repair status', and sends out surveys so that the Support Desk can evalute their service and continually make improvements to provide the best service they can to faculty, staff and students.

Computer Labs
Information Technology Services maintains and supports six general access labs on campus:
- Briggs 103 & 117 Graduate Lab - Larson Commons 104 - NFA 138 & 142
- UPD 24-hour Lab - Wenona 015 - Animal Science 129E
These duties include: maintenance, software installation, lab monitor assistance, and phone support. The labs are equipped with up-to-date technology including computers, software, and scanners.

ResNet
ResNet consists of Internet and computer support services provided to all students living in the residential halls of SDSU. Through ResNet, students gain high speed access to the Internet. Students connected through ResNet will enjoy speeds that generally surpass local cable and DSL broadband Internet speeds.
In addition to high speed Internet, students have access to in-house technical support. Information Technology Services hires ResNet Technicians to live in each residence hall. These ResNet Technicians are there to provide assistance in the forms of: software support, limited hardware support, Internet support, and any trouble-shooting.

Equipment Loan Services
ITS Equipment Loan Services provides instructional media devices such as Digital/Video Projectors, Slide Projectors, and Wireless Microphones. These devices can be delivered to classrooms. The devices supplied are only for academic use on-campus or within Brookings.
ITS Equipment Loan Services is located in Rotunda 280G and you can reserve equipment by calling 688-5720 or 688-6776.
Lab Repair Services
Lab Repair Technicians are responsible for maintaining the computers in the general access computer labs. These duties include: updating software, repairing computers, and overall general maintenance of the equipment in the computer labs.

Repair Center Services
Repair Center Technicians provide assistance to faculty and staff with computer related issues. These duties range from installing new hardware or software, configuring new hardware or software, and resolving errors or issues that arise.
