Kathy Walker is the Chief Network Officer at Sprint Nextel Corporation. In this role, Walker leads the strategic direction of Sprint’s wireless and wireline networks and directs the design, engineering, operations and performance management of Sprint’s nationwide PCS network and the domestic and international wireline voice, data, Internet and enhanced networks. She also has responsibility for the design and engineering of access management and integrated technology planning for domestic and international strategic ventures.
Walker has previously served as executive and senior vice president –Network Services, assistant vice president-Human Resources for Sprint Technology Services in October 1995, as vice president-product management for Sprint Business in April 1997, as vice president-business support services for Sprint Business in 2000 and in March 2002, as senior vice president-Network Services for the Global Markets Group. Her industry experience includes leadership roles in product planning and management, fiber cable engineering, network inventory, design and construction of network buildings and the development of network standards and drawings.
Walker holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from South Dakota State University and master of science and professional engineering degrees from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
