 Adam Vinatieri

South Dakota State University graduate and Super Bowl hero Adam Vinatieri is a kicker in the National Football League. His most famous kick propelled the New England Patriots to victory as time expired in the 2001 Super Bowl. Vinatieri was a pre-med student while attending SDSU, majoring in health & physical education with a minor in chemistry. He joined the NFL after graduation, at which point he put his plans for medical school on hold. He credits SDSU’s strong academic programs as well as its strong football program for his success today.
