HOLDS/REGISTRATION RESTRICTION CODES


Restrictions related to unsuccessful registration.

» Advisement (CADV) - students must meet with their advisors to review plans/progress & to help coordinate semester schedule to assist students in achieving educational goals. Once this meeting has taken place, the advisor will end the restriction.

» Athletes (CATH) - track athletes subject to additional academic requirements & to ensure that athletes maintain full-time status.  Students must meet with Kathy Heylens in the HPER department (SPE 255 688-5308) to receive authorization to drop or add classes and then report to the Registrar's Office (SAD 310 688-6195) for assistance. 

» Accounts Receivable (CAR) - students with a balance for items unpaid such as parking fees or tuition & fees.  Contact the Cashier's office (SAD 301 688-6116) for more specific information regarding the hold. This hold must be ended before a student will be allowed to register.

» Proficiency Exam Refused (CPR) - students that refuse to complete the proficiency exam must contact Academic Evaluation and Assessment (FND 118 688-4217). This hold must be ended before a student will be allowed to register.

» Proficiency Exam Failed (CPF) - students who failed the proficiency exam and did not retest in the required time frame must contact Academic Evaluation and Assessment (FND 118 688-4217). This hold must be ended before a student will be allowed to register.

» Incomplete Undergraduate Admissions File (CINCU) - Restriction placed on undergraduate students who have incomplete admissions files.Contact the Undergraduate Admissions office (SAD 200 688-4121). This hold must be ended before a student will be allowed to register.

» Incomplete Graduate Admissions File (CINCG) - Restriction placed on graduate students who have incomplete admissions files, have not met the required prerequisites such as low GPA, or have not taken the GRE or GMAT. Contact the Graduate School office (SAD 130 688-4181). This hold must be ended before a student will be allowed to register.

» International Students (CINT) - Used to place restrictions on registration of students to assure compliance with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service requirements and insurance regulations. Contact the International Student Affairs office (SAD 101 688-4122). This hold must be ended before a student will be allowed to register.


Baccalaurate Degree seeking restrictions requiring College Dean or Registrar's Office to help register classes.  Students must meet with an academic advisor first.

» Gen Ed Requirement Phase I (CGE 1) - students who have completed 64 credit hours and have not completed 30 credits of system general education requirements with a "catalog of graduation" of 1999 through 2005. This is an informational hold only - it will not inhibit registration.

» Gen Ed Requirement Phase I (CGE 15) - students who have completed 64 credit hours and have not completed 30 credits of system general education requirements with a "catalog of graduation" of 2005 and later. This is an informational hold only - it will not inhibit registration.

» General Education Requirement Phase II (CGE 2) - students who have completed 48 credit hours and have not completed 18 credit hours of system general education requirements; specifically three hours in each Goal #1 through #6 with a "catalog of graduation" of 1999 through 2005. After meeting with their advisor, students will need to register at their College Dean's office.

» General Education Requirement Phase II (CGE 25) - students who have completed 48 credit hours and have not completed 18 credit hours of system general education requirements; specifically three hours in each Goal #1 through #6 with a "catalog of graduation" of 2005 and later. After meeting with their advisor, students will need to register at their College Dean's office.

» General Education Requirement Phase II (CGET) - transfer students with more than 18 credit hours entering from outside the Regental System must complete 18 credit hours of general education requirements within the first 30 credit hours taken at a Regental institution with a "catalog of graduation" of 1999 through 2005. After meeting with their advisor, students will need to register at their College Dean's office.

» General Education Requirement Phase II (CGET5) - transfer students with more than 18 credit hours entering from outside the Regental System must complete 18 credit hours of general education requirements within the first 30 credit hours taken at a Regental institution with a "catalog of graduation" as 2005 and later. After meeting with their advisor, students will need to register at their College Dean's office.


Restrictions requiring Registrar's Office to help register classes after meeting with an academic advisor.

» Pre General Education Requirement Phase I (CPG1) - students who have attempted 30 credit hours but have not fulfilled the Math/Engl pre-gen ed requirements will have a restriction.  These students should register for the required Engl/Math requirements within the next 12 credit hours attempted. After meeting with their advisor, students will need to register at the Registrar's office (SAD 310 688-6195).

» Pre General Education Requirement Phase II (CPG2) - if the student does not fulfill the pre-gen ed requirements within the first 42 credit hours attempted, they will only be allowed to register in the Engl/Math requirements and will be changed to non-degree seeking status. After meeting with their advisor, students will need to register at the Registrar's office (SAD 310 688-6195).
