Eligibility
Financial aid eligibility for summer classes have the same requirements as the fall and spring semesters. A student must 1) be enrolled as a half-time student (6 credits undergraduates) or (5 credits graduate students), 2) be enrolled in a degree program, 3) have completed the FAFSA for the upcoming academic school year and had the results sent to SDSU, and 4) be in good-standing with federal student aid programs.
Types of Aid Available
Typically only Federal Stafford loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) and Federal work-study funds are available for summer.
Note, Using Federal Student Aid during the summer will reduce the amount the student is eligible to receive during the fall and spring semester. The reason for this is that a student is awarded a certain amount for the entire year if some of that money is used for the summer then there is less for the fall and spring.
