Assistantships and Fellowships
|
Graduate students must be accepted into a degree program before being considered for fellowships or assistantships adminstered by SDSU. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for these programs. Questions concerning admission status should be directed to SDSU Admissions.
Each department appoints its own teaching and researching assistantships. Most of the departments use academic excellence(GPA) as their first criterion; however, it's not their only consideration. Students interested in obtaining either a fellowship or an assistantship should contact their department of study as the department can provide specific information on its individual selection processes.

To apply for either a loan or work-study, students need to fill out the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA). The SDSU school code, which students will need to include on their FAFSA forms, is 003471. See our link applying for financial aid for more information.
