The following is a summary of possible budget adjustments when submitted to the SDSU Financial Aid Office with additional documentation or meets SDSU policy:
Aviation - flight costs will be included in a students budget for eligible students enrolled in the Aviation major or minor. A standard allowance is used unless the student documents additional flight costs for the academic term.
Child care a written statement from the student (or provider) detailing a period of time cost for child care.
Computer allowance is used if the computer is required for the major, minor, or applicable course work (SDSU computer purchase). Documentation is needed if the computer is not purchased through SDSU.
Medical with appropriate documentation for expenses not paid by insurance and within allowances.
Study abroad require academic registration with SDSU or SDSU sponsored or approved programs. Students may need to complete a financial aid estimated Study Abroad worksheet (if the faculty do not provide an estimated cost sheet.
Travel adjustments require travel more than 40 miles round trip. Travel expenses factored with South Dakota state mileage rate.
Other adjustments for other expenses (food, housing, equipment, clothing, etc) will be considered for appropriate need for students education and/or living expenses.
