Loans are borrowed money that must be repaid with interest.  To receive a federal loan the student and the student's parents must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  An Online FAFSA can be accessed at www.fafsa.ed.gov . 

Please note:  First-time Federal Stafford loan borrowers are required to complete Entrance Loan Counseling before their loan can be approved for disbursement.
