1. Apply for a PIN (Personal Identification Number).
A PIN is needed to electronically sign the FAFSA, go towww.pin.ed.gov [External Hyperlink] to apply. The student's parents will need a PIN to sign the FAFSA if their information is needed on the FAFSA.
The student will need to completeentrance loan counseling [External Hyperlink]. If entrance loan counseling is not completed the student will not receive the loan. Special Circumstances: If the information on your financial aid application does not accurately show your family's circumstances, or if your financial status has changed significantly, you should fill out the Special Circumstances form or send a letter explaining your situation to the SDSU Financial Aid Office.
