Hints for Completing the FAFSA

SDSU recommends completing the FAFSA on the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov [External Hyperlink]. Students(and parents, when required) will use a PIN number for an electronic signature. PIN numbers can be obtained at www.pin.ed.gov [External Hyperlink].

2. Use Your Name as Shown on Your Social Security Card.
|
The name on your FAFSA needs to match the name found at the Social Security Office or the application will be rejected.

3. SDSU's School Code is 003471.
|
To ensure that the SDSU Financial Aid Office will receive a copy of your FAFSA application include SDSU's school code (003471) on the FAFSA.

4. Worksheet A and Worksheet B
|
Worksheet A and Worksheet B, must be completed for untaxed income. If the answer to any item is $0, put $0 for that line item.
|
|
5. Worksheet C
|
Worksheet C, must be completed for special types of income, credits, or child support paid. If the answer to any item is $0, report $0 for that line item.
