University News Bureau

The South Dakota State University News Bureau provides news media with interview and information requests, University event publicity, news tips and advisories, distribution of University research information, and a wide variety of student-related announcements.

The News Bureau serves as an interface between news media and SDSU resources. We help arrange interviews with local, regional and national reporters.

Managed by Jeanne Jones Manzer, the SDSU News Bureau can also help plan an effective event promotion campaign.  Departments with upcoming events, should contact Jeanne with event information at least two weeks in advance

Information submitted less than two weeks before an event runs the risk of receiving less attention from both University Relations and the news media.  UR needs to schedule initial writing and release time; in addition, media outlets also need time to assign reporters and schedule coverage.

Public web calendars also have restrictions about content and submission time.

Please call or e-mail for assistance of an SDSU-sponsored event. Information should be submitted electronically

The News Bureau also assembles a campus-wide, online publication called “Newsline.”  Please submit items for posting the Thursday prior to the Monday e-mail distribution.  Items generally run no more than twice.
