Campus Compact:
A coalition of college and university presidents committed to helping students develop the values and skills of citizenship through participation in public and community service. This website has a comprehensive list of sample service-learning syllabi, program models, etc.

Community-Campus Partnerships for Health

Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) is a nonprofit organization that promotes health (broadly defined) through partnerships between communities and higher educational institutions. Founded in 1996, CCPH is a network of over 1,300 communities and campuses across North America and increasingly the world that are collaborating to promote health through service-learning, community-based participatory research, broad-based coalitions and other partnership strategies.


Corporation For National and Community Service:
A government organization which oversees AmeriCorps, Learn & Serve America, and the National Senior Service Corps programs.

Educators for Community Engagement:
A national organization dedicated to service-learning. Members include faculty and staff, community partners, and students working toward a common goal- increasing the practice of service-learning across the United States.

The Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA:
HERI serves as an interdisciplinary center for research, evaluation, information, policy studies, and research training in postsecondary education. HERI's research program covers a variety of topics including the outcomes of postsecondary education, leadership development, faculty performance, federal and state policy, and educational equity.

International Partnership For Service-Learning:
Founded in 1982, this incorporated not-for-profit organization serves colleges, universities, service agencies and related organizations around the world by fostering programs that link community service and academic study.

Part of the International Partnership for Service-Learning, the Lakota Nation program is based out of South Dakota State University.

 

Joint Educational Project

Founded in 1972, JEP, a University of Southern California program, is one of the oldest and largest service-learning programs in the country. The website includes a service-learning toolkit for faculty


Journal of College and Character:
This journal includes resources and information designed to encourage discussion, research, and educational strategies on character development in college.

Journal of Public Service & Outreach:
A peer-reviewed journal which publishes research articles, essays, commentary, reviews, and information on public service in its broadest interpretation -- reflecting its scope, interdisciplinary nature, and vital role as the third mission of the academy.

Learn and Serve:
A comprehensive website maintained by the Corporation for National Service which provides information about service-learning resources, programs, K-12, Bleader schools, service awards, etc.

Learn, Serve, & Surf:
This website showcases some of the most effective, educationally-sound service-learning resources and tools on the Internet . The purpose of this site is to help service-minded folks like you take advantage of on-line treasures that may greatly enrich (and "futurize"!) service-oriented projects in your community.

Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning:
An academic journal containing papers written by faculty and service-learning educators on research, theory, pedagogy, and issues pertinent to the service-learning community.

Midwest Consortium for Service-Learning in Higher Education

The Consortium, which began in 1993, currently has 24 member institutions that serve more than 85,000 students.  South Dakota State University is a member institution of the consortium.


National Service-Learning Clearinghouse:
Provides information services and technical assistance, as well as help with academic research, program startup, assessment and evaluation, term papers, downloading online documents, or anything else regarding service-learning.

NYLC Resource Center:
The Resource Center draws upon more than 20 years worth of NYLC writings, including key articles, excerpts from books, research, and training materials; writings by leaders in the service-learning movement; and project examples from across the country. But the Resource Center is not just a place to find materials; it's a place to contribute.
