David Hanson, Director (Starting August 1, 2008)

Oversees and directs functions of SDSU Human Resources. Director is primarily responsible for classification/compensation of Non-Faculty Exempt positions, disciplinary issues, and answering Human Resources policy and procedure questions.

Becky Barkmeier, Assistant Director and Equal Opportunity Officer

Oversees and coordinates all Faculty and Non-Faculty Exempt recruitments and approves all hiring proposals for the institution. Conducts Affirmative Action / Equal Employment Opportunity research, oversees and directs functions of SDSU Web Timekeeping, oversees SDSU’s complaint procedures, provides harassment and discrimination training, oversees the new hire paperwork process and background checks, and assists the Director with special projects.

Louise Loban, Benefits Specialist

Oversees and coordinates all employee benefits, including health/life insurance, retirement, educational benefits and workers compensation, policies on leave usage and holidays, monitors TSAs, and assists with compliance of the Family Medical Leave Act as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act and ergonomics.

Mary Larson, Coordinator -HRIS and Employment System

Responsible for Career Service recruitment and classification for permanent and temporary staff; coordinates Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Online Employment System (PeopleAdmin) processes and coordinates contracts, appointment notices, longevity, surveys, and other special reports and projects.

Doris Ust, Human Resources Generalist

Provides paraprofessional support for a wide variety of human resources functions, including managing the records room, maintaining databases, generating reports, assists with recruitment and advertising, processes employment verifications, manages the Banner Data Load, and provides benefits assistance when needed.

Allison Aman, Human Resources Generalist

Coordinates training efforts and completes registration, maintains Exempt compensation system information, enters new hire paperwork into Banner, assists with recruitment for Non-Faculty Exempt and Faculty positions, and special projects when requested.

Linda VanMaanen & Kim Fruechte, Human Resources Generalists

Provides support for all types of staff on issues related to the Web Timekeeping system and leave benefits. To include maintaining the Web Help Desk for password resets, timesheet routing, security set up and access, time and leave payroll corrections, leave verification and auditing for accuracy. Provides training to staff as requested and works on special projects associated with the Banner System.

Cleo Heenan, Secretary

Enters and tracks human resources forms, schedules appointments, assists with the completion of new hire paperwork, provides assistance with workers compensation reporting and claims, and performs general clerical tasks.
