Jeri V. Kurtz, Director of OIR

Dr. Kurtz has been employed in the Budget Office at SDSU since 1992, beginning her career as Budget/Research Analyst.  In 1996 she was promoted to Sr. Budget/Research Analyst and she received her current title as Director of OIR in 2004.  Jeri has her BS and MST from SDSU and her EdD from the University of SD in Higher Ed Administration, all with emphasis in statistics.  The OIR was initially within the Budget Office and has evolved into a viable office in its own right.  We still enjoy a close relationship with the Budget Office which provides a large amount of data for our reporting efforts.  Jeri.kurtz@sdstate.edu

Jill Hope, Sr. Secretary

Ms. Hope is a more recent addition to the office, beginning her career in 2006.  She handles the usual clerical duties as well as data entry and report generating for various projects.  She is also Sr. Secretary to the Assistant VP for Finance & Business as well as the Budget Office.  Jill.hope@sdstate.edu

Jenny Vander Wal, Budget Analyst

Mrs. Vander Wal has been in the offices of IR and Budget since 2000 and has her BS from Dakota State University in Business Administration with a major in Finance.  Jenny handles most of the admissions surveys as well as ad hoc reports for us.  Her knowledge of ACCESS is extremely useful in our reporting efforts.  She handles many personnel budget-related projects as well.  Jennifer.vanderwal@sdstate.edu

Dave Gilkerson III, Project Engineer

Mr. Gilkerson has been with us since 1997 and has his BS and MS from SDSU and is working on his EdD in Higher Ed Administration at the University of SD.  Dave is relied upon by many offices in the administration area for his in-depth knowledge of computer programming and is known for his can-do attitude.  He is instrumental in our reporting efforts.  David.gilkerson@sdstate.edu

Contacts across campus

No Office of Institutional Research would be complete without the contacts across the campus who contribute to our reporting efforts.  This includes the offices of Administrative & Research Computing, Records & Registration, Admissions, Financial Aid, Budget Office, and so many others.  The Administration, Deans, Directors and Department Heads are also very important in making our data gathering go more smoothly.  Our thanks to you all for your on-going support!
