Laboratory Safety at SDSU

SDSU is commited to providing a safe learning and working environment. The office of Environmental Health and Safety has the responsibility to implement and enforce various regulatory codes pertaining to any such activities, either in the teaching or research environment.

Our office provides assistance to any department that needs help in assessing their current conditions.

This site will eventually provide all the of the various manuals and forms departments will need to be in compliance with applicable regulations.

This "draft" booklet is produced by the EHS office for use by departments "as is" or to modify for their unique situation. It is in the Microsoft Word format.

 - osha_lab_standards.pdf OSHA Laboratory Standards
The OSHA Laboratory Standard was enacted in 1990. Although SDSU is not obligated to follow OSHA standards, the EHS office tries to apply the standards to "the effort available."
