SDSU is in the planning stages in case of a Avian Flu Pandemic occuring. It must be noted that, at this time, the primary avian flu virus (H5N1 avian virus) has NOT been found in the United States and that there IS NOT a pandemic or epidemic flu anywhere.

SDSU's Avian Flu planning group is pulling together a plan in case such an avian flu outbreak should occur. It must be noted that at this time, the primary virus cannot be transmitted from human to human.

What Can You Do To Stay Healthy? Follow the rules that your parents taught you when you were very young!
  • Wash Hands Often
  • Cover Your Mouth when Coughing using Your Arm, not Your hands
  • Use Antiseptic Hand Wash, when Soap and Water not Available
  • When Feeling Sick, Stay at Home and Take Care of Yourself
  • If and When Flu Vaccines are Available, Become Vaccinated
  • Take Care of Yourself: Eat Healthy, Get Enough Sleep, and Enjoy Life!
