Career Service Advisory Council Minutes

Members Present: Mary Kidwiler, Casey Sampson, Tyke Knudson, Jodi Pierce, Keith Hoffman, and Sally Krueger.

Members Absent: Cora Olson and Roger Chapin

Guests: Becky Barkmeier, Human Resources & Ruth Schroeder, Wellness Center. 

1. The meeting was called to order at 3:06 pm. 

2. Welcome/Correspondence:

Thank you was distributed from Tiffany Petersen.

Open Form with Tad Perry is Friday, June 27 at 11:00 pm in the Volstorff.

Career Service Employees are encouraged to attend.

3. The May14, 2008 minutes were approved.

4. The June 14, 2008 agenda was approved.

5. Treasurer's Report. Jodi Pierce presented the following account information: 

336375 (CSAC): $872.18

3379057 (CSAC Activities): $966.30

Foundation 1069 (CS Scholarship - Endowed): $12,789.08

Foundation 1069 (CS Scholarship - Cash): $ 460.99

Foundation 1227 (Gottschalk Scholarship - Endowed): $10,574.29

Foundation 1227 (Gottschalk Scholarship - Cash): $ 389.99 

6. Human Resource Report: 

* Health Assessment needs to be completed.

* Insurance cards will be sent out

* Long-Term Enrollment will be from August 11 to October 27,2008.

* CSAC Salary notices will be issued in July.

7. Business:

Scholarship Committee Report: Sally K. reported that the Scholarship Committee met and

determined the award recipients for the Career Service Personal Improvement Scholarship

and the Gottschalk Scholarship. The names were reported to Chairperson Kidwiler who will

then notify them A "thank you for applying letter" was sent to the remaining applicants.

June 2008 Employee of the Month is Tiffany Peterson from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Her reception was Thursday, June 13 at 3 pm.

Fall 2008 Meeting is set for Wednesday, August 13,2008 in the Union Lounge (by the Volstorff).

Root bear floats will be served. Also, Greg Heiberger will do a short presentation regarding

the upcoming university accreditation.

NCA University Accreditation - The Career Service Employees are invited to participate in various areas

such as data collection and surveys. More details will be made available later.

8. Ruth Schroeder gave a report on the Wellness Center. There will be a Employee Membership Drive. Information post cards will be made sent regarding membership information. The hours are from 5:30 am to

11:00 pm.

 

The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 15,2008 at 3:00 pm in Adm. 212. Casey Sampson will host.
