Susie Roth

Susie Roth teaches two classes for SDSU: Education in a Pluralistic Society and Group Processes. She has been an instructor for South Dakota State University since 1999.




Susie has eleven years of elementary school teaching experience and seventeen years of experience as a principal. She was a building principal for fourteen years and a Principal on Special Assignment for three years. She is currently the Director of Staff Development with Rapid City Area Schools. Her Bachelor’s degree is in elementary education, and her Master’s degree is in Educational Administration. She received her Doctorate degree through the University of South Dakota in 2005.




Dr. Roth is originally from Sturgis, and has lived and worked in Rapid City since 1984. She has two children. Her son Seth Hahn, a graduate of Central High School and Princeton University, works in Washington, D.C. Her daughter Ashley Burkhead is a graduate of Central High School and  attends Black Hills State University. Susie enjoys reading, bird watching, traveling, running, and hiking.
