CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

 

DESCRIPTION OF THE DEGREE 

The SDSU Construction Management program prepares students to effectively manage construction projects from civil projects such as highways, dams, bridges to large commercial projects such as hospitals, resorts, and skyscrapers, to residential building projects.  

Our program of study includes the following courses to prepare you to succeed in this rewarding career field:

·         Construction Materials

·         Construction Surveying & Lab

·         Cost Estimating

·         Heavy Construction Methods

·         Mechanical Electrical, & Plumbing Systems

·         Building Construction Methods

·         Project Management & Supervision

·         Construction Law & Accounting

 

Many CM students elect to complete a Business Minor by using required courses for the CM major and 3-4 additional business courses.  Graduates from this program are highly sought after for positions in management related areas including cost estimators, project managers, and project superintendents while several graduates have started their own business or project management firm.
