Where is the Honors College housing option?

The Honors floor is located in Mathews Hall, w hich is part of the Grove area group of residence halls. It is located on Student Center Lane directly north of Grove Hall. The hall is co-ed with genders occupying separate wings on each floor. The college provides each student with a movable desk, chair, dresser, loftable bed, and built-in closet. Items that are in the room for both residents include blinds, a mirror, a waste can, towel hooks, and new overhead lighting with multiple light level options.

What does the Honors House offer?

Dayroom:

The dayroom in the Honors College House is a bonus for students living on the floor. Students will have access to a television, DVD player, and stereo system. The Honors dayroom also provides easy access to computers. The dayroom gives students a place to socialize and meet new people.

Computer Access:

Another bonus of living inthe Honors House is the computers in the dayroom. There are four Dell computers running Windows XP and equipped with Microsoft Office and Internet access. Free printing (not available anywhere else on campus) is provided. The computers are easily accessible 24 hours a day, and provide a great convenience to students who need to do online work.

Learning Community Coordinators (LCC):

The primary purpose of the LCCs is to create a sense of community among the Honors students by encouraging them to become involved in Honors activities. They encourage students to attend the Honors College Student Organization (HCSO) meetings and activities and register for Honors classes. They also assist students who have questions about the Honors College.
