Thank you for considering graduate school at South Dakota State University. Individuals have many different reasons for pursuing graduate level education. These include a desire to broaden one's knowledge base, the need to obtain the credentials necessary to assume or maintain a leadership role in one's professional career, and personal fulfillment. Whether you are motivated by one of these or by other factors, SDSU will provide a high quality educational experience in a wide range of disciplines.
The Graduate School offers Masters degrees (M.A., M.S. or M.Ed.) in approximately 25 majors and Doctorates (Ph.D.) in 6 majors. Numerous options or areas of emphasis are included within these majors. In addition, the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is offered. Currently, approximately 1400 individuals are enrolled in one of these degree programs or as special (non-degree seeking) students. Typically, approximately 350 students are supported on graduate assistantships each semester.
