South Dakota State University maintains an International Student Affairs office directed by the International Student Adviser. The office provides a broad range of services including orientation, interpretation of immigration regulations, advising, outreach, programming, issuance of immigration documents, and official documenation and record keeping.

1. How does an international student apply to the SDSU graduate school?
Your application for graduate school will be processed when we receive all of the following documents and information. Please use the following as a check-list: 1. Completed application form 2. Application fee (US $35) 3. Complete official transcripts of all previously attended universities/colleges, including certificate of Bachelors degree (and Masters degree, if applicable). Four years of post-secondary education is required. Faxed copies are not acceptable. 4. TOEFL score 5. Two letters of reference 6. Financial certification form 7. Letter from financial sponsor 8. Bank/Employer/Broker letter required
2. What should an international student do upon arriving on the South Dakota State University campus?
International students should go to room 101 in the Administration Building as soon as possible in order to meet the staff of the International Student Affairs office and obtain orientation information. 3. Where do I go for more information for international students at SDSU?
