2006 Dr. Louis Grivetti, a food historian from the University of California, Davis, and a personal friend to Dr. Ethel Austin Martin, visited SDSU from October 24-29th, 2006. During his stay, Dr. Grivetti participated in a local radio show, presented six lectures, and attended the Hobo Day festivities including the parade, tailgating, the football game and a women's hockey game.

Dr. Robert Rucker, professor and chair at UC Daviss Department of Nutrition and nutritionist in the Agricultural Experiment Station, visited SDSU from October 26-29th, 2006. Like Dr. Grivetti, he also presented a lecture while on campus and attended SDSUs Hobo Day activities.
