Professional Program
The professional curriculum incorporates a solid foundation of pharmaceutical science courses as well as a comprehensive sequence of therapeutics and professional practice courses. The application of drug knowledge and basic science to resolve problems of drug distribution and patient care is emphasized throughout the curriculum. The four years of the professional program also includes 5 credits of general education courses and general electives (not natural science, math, computer science, nutrition or health related).
During the final year, students have an opportunity to apply knowledge to pharmacy practice situations in a series of 4-week clerkship rotations in a variety of patient care settings which include the patient care area of hospitals, nursing homes, community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, Indian Health Service facilities and clinic pharmacies.
