Continuing Education

Throughout the College of Pharmacy's long history of quality and distinction, one of its main goals has been to inspire students to be lifelong learners who express a caring professional attitude and seek to be agents of change within the profession. Thus, pharmacy students, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians should be given opportunity to gain as much liberal education as possible to adequately understand the community they serve. With this in mind, our Mission Statement provides structure for our CE program.

Mission Statement
The mission of the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy Continuing Education (CE) program is to provide accredited pharmacy and other healthcare continuing education programs, at both regional and national levels. Further, we strive to
assist practitioners through skill development and increased knowledge, which will
ultimately strengthen contemporary practice and improve patient care.

Program Goals
1. Continuing education programs will conform with ACPE "Criteria for Quality and Interpretive Guidelines."
2. Continuing education programs will be responsive to contemporary pharmacy patient care by meeting the education needs of pharmacy practitioners
3. South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy will seek to develop a wider range of new program offerings created for regional and national pharmacy practitioners.
4. All presented program materials will be fair and balanced -- approved programs will be planned in a manner to bear no obvious promotional bias for any specific commercial product(s) or commercial service
5. South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy will be accessible to and will seek input from its constituent practitioners, professional organizations and the academic community in striving for improved continuing pharmacy education.
