Graduate Student Handbook

Welcome!
We are pleased that you are considering pursuing the educational program at SDSU which leads to a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with a major in nursing. The SDSU Graduate Nursing Education Program was initiated in 1980 and since that time many graduates from this program have become leaders in nursing. The strength of the program is its ability to provide the graduate student with specialized knowledge and skill applicable to current and future advanced nursing practice. More information about the program is available online at the Master of Science Nursing Homepage   There you will find all of the program plans, the computer requirements, the approved statistics classes, tuition and fees, and several handbooks. All prospective students are responsible for the information on the web page and the associate links. The policies in this handbook apply to all nursing graduate students and are subject to change without notice.

The graduate student in nursing is expected to become familiar with the South Dakota State University Graduate School Bulletin. The purpose of this handbook is to supplement this information. It is provided to give nursing graduate students a ready reference to the policies and procedures in the College of Nursing that apply to graduate nursing students. The student should consult with her or his academic advisor for further information. This handbook is subject to change at any time.

South Dakota State University offers all educational programs, materials, and services to all people without regard to age, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, or national origin and is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
