Research

Dr. Hegge’s research focuses on stressors and coping strategies of adults in major life transitions.  Her earlier work assessed power/load/margin in RN Upward Mobility students.  She studied elders who recently lost life partners to determine their coping strategies in adjusting to widowhood.  Her current research assesses major stressors and coping strategies of second degree students enrolled in SDSU’s accelerated nursing program.  She has also studied supply, demand and forecasting of the nursing workforce.  These concepts are representative of her research:  stress, life transitions, hardiness and coping strategies
