I teach in the College of Nursing Graduate Program. My focus is preparation of advanced level nurses at the masters and doctoral level through the following courses and activities: teaching and coordination of laboratory and clinical experiences in Advanced Health Promotion, Advanced Assessment, and Family Nurse Practitioner Practicum courses; co-teaching health care ethics in the doctoral program; advisement of masters students; participation in program planning through chairing or serving on graduate nursing committees and task forces; and maintaining a clinical practice as a nurse practitioner to remain current with professional knowledge and advance practice issues.

My research and scholarship interests are in the areas of exercise and health-related quality of life in older persons; palliative and end of life care; health promotion in primary care; and nurse practitioner and advanced practice nursing role development.
