I completed my Masters in Nursing in 1989 at South Dakota State University and completed my Bachelors in Nursing in 1972 from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV.

I currently serve as a semester V coordinator and Chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee.  I have provided instructed in public health nursing, mental health nursing and leadership. I serve as the advisor of the local Nursing Student Association and am a member of American Nurses’ Association and the South Dakota Nurses’ Association.

Prior to entering nursing education I have worked in the hospital setting in medical nursing, maternity nursing, surgical nursing and community health nursing. I have served as the Director of Community Health Nursing for the South Dakota Department of Health in Pierre, South Dakota and Director of the Victims of Violence Intervention Program a.k.a. Artemis House in Spearfish, SD serving victims of domestic violence and sexual violence.
