In 2007, I received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biological Sciences and a Master of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University. The emphasis of my doctorate study was Human Nutrition with a focus on the influence of lifestyle and psychosocial factors on bone mass and size in preterm, near-term, and full term children.
My areas of interest include nursing leadership, management, and health promotion. I am currently involved with the March of dimes Board of Directors; Association of Womens Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses; Midwest Nursing Research Society, and Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Teaching responsibilities include NURS 760, NURS 425Lab, NURS 495, and NURS 425. Current research activities include conducting a pilot study to determine the accuracy of two surveys that measure certain aspects of childrearing practices in parents of preterm born children.
