I graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in 1977. I then worked in the areas of community health nursing and medical surgical nursing. I completed my Master of Science with a major in Nursing from South Dakota State University in 1997. My area of study was nursing instructor knowledge of learning styles.

Because of my background in both community health and medical/surgical nursing, I have taught theory and clinical content in both of these areas. Currently I teach Introduction to Population Based Nursing and Directed Study Seminar and Community Health clinical.

I use web based course delivery to enhance my courses. Public Health Science is delivered entirely on the internet.

Professional Memberships include American Nurse's Association, South Dakota Nurse's Association, Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, American Public Health Association and South Dakota Public Health Association.
