My education and credentials are as follows; Diploma, Creighton Memorial St. Josephs Hospital School of Nursing, 1967; BSN, University of Nebraska Medical Center, 1974; MSN, University of Texas at Austin, 1977; PhD, University of Texas as Austin, 1982. My major fields of study were Nursing, Adult Health, and Nursing Education Administration.
Since 2003 I have served as Undergraduate Department Head for the Brookings campus. I also teach in the doctoral program. In the past I taught medical-surgical nursing theory and clinical to undergraduate and graduate students. I also taught the nurse educator course in the masters curriculum. My memberships in professional organizations include Sigma Theta Tau Phi Chapter, the American Nurses Association, South Dakota Nurses Association and Midwest Nursing Research Society.
