I obtained my education at the following institutions; BSN, University of Missouri-Columbia, 1979; MS in Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist, University of California-San Francisco, 1986; Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certificate, SDSU, 1988, PhD, University of Nebraska Medical Center, 2006.
I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sioux Falls and Brookings. I also coordinate the nursing accelerated (NACC) option for students who have a bachelors degree in another area and want to earn a second degree in nursing.
My clinical experience has been primarily in neonatal intensive care units in Missouri, California, and South Dakota. I also have some maternity and pediatric home care experience.
My areas of expertise are quantitative research, stress, and social regulation. I am most interested in the infant population.
