Courses I am currently teaching include: Nur 265- Health Assessment (theory and clinical); Nur 280 Professional Communication (theory and lab); Nur 325 – (Gerontology clinical); Nur 420- Mental Health Nursing (theory); NACC 420- Mental Health Nursing (theory); NCLEX Review courses on and off campus.
My Focus of Teaching is nursing health assessment, professional communication, gerontology, mental health, and NCLEX review courses. Focus of scholarship is nursing education particularly efficacy of classroom teaching techniques, and gerontology.
I majored as an undergraduate student in nursing and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree at SDSU. I worked several years at various hospitals as a staff and charge RN in pediatrics, adult medical surgical, mental health, and geriatrics. I returned to school at SDSU where I obtained a Master of Science degree in 1998 in the nursing education track.
Organization involvement; Sigma Theta Tau – current counselor, Nurses’ Christian Fellowship and Phi Kappa Phi. Serve on the undergraduate curriculum committee in the college of nursing.
