Human Development Consumer and Family Sciences (HDCFS)

Welcome to the Department of Human Development, Consumer and Family Sciences! Thank you for your interest in the academic programs, faculty and learning opportunities available in the HDCFS Department. Four undergraduate programs, with a combined enrollment of approximately 500 students, are housed in the department including: Consumer Affairs, Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Human Development and Family Studies.
Minors in Consumer Affairs, Gerontology, Leadership and Management of Nonprofit Organizations, and Human Development and Family Studies are also offered through the HDCFS Department. A graduate program in Family and Consumer Sciences with specializations in Family Financial Planning or Child and Family Studies is also available for graduate students. Within the Child and Family Studies specialization, students may choose a concentration in either Human Development and Family Studies or Early Childhood Education.
