Apparel Merchandising faculty are examining the influence of technology on rural consumers, the impact of specific advertising campaigns, the value of customer service training, the effectiveness of experiential learning among students, and the relationship between appearance and identity as it relates to gender construction, issues of power, aesthetics, and material culture analysis. Interior Design faculty are researching such topics as straw bale building techniques, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), the Eden AlternativeTM, and the social and cultural needs of Native American housing.
