Research Dr. Lyons has been South Dakotas lead researcher on the NC-222 committee studying the impact of technology on rural consumer access to food and fiber products. The AES appointment connects her with researchers from ten other states. They collected experimental data from consumers who were exposed to internet shopping websites and mailed surveys (N=2198) designed to identify sources including internet that consumers used to acquire products. Lyons also studies fashion advertising and sewn-product manufacturers.
