Excellent! Fantastic! Phenomenal! Outstanding!
These are just a few terms that came to mind to describe the forward momentum the Engineering Technology and Management Department has these days. Enrollment is setting new records, recruitment and placement is strong and growing, and the positive energy can be felt in the offices and classrooms in Solberg Hall.
So what is all the excitement about?
Construction Management enrollment experienced a 14% increase over last year and the fourth consecutive year of double digit growth.
ABET-TAC accreditation for the Electronics Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Engineering Technology programs was confirmed in September.
SDSU won Outstanding Adult Program for 2007 by the SD Workforce Development Council as a result of a summer workshop by ETM faculty & staff members.
The AGC & NAHB student chapters partnered with Wells Fargo Bank for the Habitat for Humanity two-week build showcasing project management and technical skills of our students for the Brookings community.
The ETM Department faculty continue to find new and innovative ways to provide relevant and state-of-the-art course content for our growing population of students. Validation comes from the positive feedback from employers, recruiters, and alumni. In the end, it all adds up to a significant positive impact on economic development for the state and region.
We are pleased to be part of a very exciting time at SDSU record enrollments, Division I-AA athletics, new buildings for the College of Engineering, and a growing recognition within South Dakota and in the region for the value and promise SDSU holds for all its constituents.
