The Office of Remote Sensing specializes in the acquisition and processing of spatial data. Technologies utilized for this purpose include remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), and image processing. |

Examples of ORS projects are:

the development of GIS and remote sensing datasets at state and county levels for K-12 classroom use |
the investigation of digital aerial and satellite data for precision farming applications |
the creation of a GIS for the management of Army National Guard training sites and facilities in South Dakota |
