| ACE Camp Regulations
The following instructions will be in effect during the entire ACE Camp. These regulations apply to all ACE Camp participants, on a 24-hour/day basis. Any ACE participant who does not follow the regulations will be withdrawn from the program.
1. Absolutely no drugs or alcohol. The use of drugs, alcohol, and/or tobacco products is strictly prohibited. The University will prosecute any incident involving the possession of alcohol or controlled substances. Any student caught with any illegal substance or in the presence of any illegal substance will be sent home. The camper’s parents will be responsible for that camper’s transportation home.
2. The camp will be conducted in a smoke-free environment.
3. All participants must stay in the quarters provided by the camp.
• Students are not allowed to leave campus without permission from the camp coordinator or a staff member.
• Please keep your dorm room locked at all times and do not leave valuable out in the open. Also, students will be charged for key loss ($25.00) or damage to room.
• All students must be in their assigned rooms by 11:30. But keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 p.m. for the sake of others using the facility. Floor monitors will check all rooms between 11:00 and 11:30 p.m. Violators will be reported to the camp coordinator. After 11:30 p.m. lights should be out and all should be quiet on the floor.
• Dorm monitors have authority in the dorms after 11:00 p.m. each night. The camp coordinator will discipline students who do not follow their instructions.
• Do not call for pizza later than 10:00 p.m. After 10:45, delivery people will be locked out of the dorm.
• If you feel ill or need assistance during the night, contact your floor monitor. If you need assistance during the day, notify the camp coordinator or other staff members.
• Boys and girls should stay on their respective wings of first floor Matthews Hall and restrict their meetings to the television or lobby.
• Do not tamper with fire equipment. This includes fire alarms, fire doors and fire extinguishers.
• Please do not tamper with the smoke detector or heat sensor in your residence hall room. These are there for your own safety.
• Screens must remain attached to the windows at all times. Again, this is for your own safety. If you do have trouble with your window or screen, please contact a staff member.
4. The rules and regulations of each facility associated with the camp will be followed at all times.
• Participation is required at all camp events. All students must attend scheduled events, observe set hours, be on time, and discuss unusual needs with the person in charge.
• All students are asked to be respectful, quiet, and attentive to camp speakers. These persons are working for you on a volunteer basis. Students not following this rule will be removed from this event.
• Students are asked to behave in a manner appropriate for the occasion. Refrain from abusive or profane language, avoid boisterous conduct, and show respect for other’ rights and property. Also, do not touch or play with anything unless permission has been given.
• Students are asked to become familiar with the purpose and program of the specific activity so that he/she may gain the maximum benefit form the experience.
5. For safety reasons, any participant taking prescribed medication must notify the staff on registration day.
6. Students will not be allowed to drive automobiles during their stay at SDSU. If students drive themselves to camp they may receive a parking permit when their keys are turned over to the camp coordinator. Keys will be returned after check out. Students are NOT allowed to ride in vehicles driven by anyone but those authorized by ACE Camp, i.e., counselors and camp coordinator.
7. Students will not engage in public displays of affection.
8. Each participant agrees to hold the South Dakota, the Federal Government, private corporations, staff, counselors, and volunteers of ACE Camp harmless from all injuries, medical bills, and lawsuits stemming from participation in the ACE Camp program.
