ACE Camp is sponsored by the South Dakota Space Grant Consortium and the South Dakota Department of Transportation Office of Aeronautics. ACE Camp tuition covers rooms, meals, instructional materials, transportation during camp, in-flight training (weather permitting), a hot-air balloon ride (weather permitting), awards for academic achievement, an evening's entertainment, and a T-shirt. Please send two letters of recommendation. One letter should be from a teacher, the other from an adult (not a relative). This helps with the sponsor scholarship award process. Tuition: $275.00 Tuition assistance may be available for up to $200. Notification of awards is intended by June 1. Full scholarships are sometimes awarded, half scholarship awards are most likely. Other amounts are also considered, depending on the need of the applicant. We encourage all students to make an effort to pay at least part of their tuition. A $25 non-refundable application fee is due to guarantee placement in the camp.
