The South Dakota State University Student Branch of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is sponsored by the South Dakota Chapter of ASHRAE based in Sioux Falls, SD. The SDSU Student Branch was chartered in 1985. Student members participate in a wide variety of activities and events for engineers working in the building industry. Monthly speakers from consulting engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, and contracting firms provide students with an opportunity to learn about the industry and to interact personally with practicing professionals. Field trips and tours arranged by the student branch provide the chance to see engineered systems in operation as well as the details of design, manufacturing and construction of equipment and systems. The student branch also sponsors social events to encourage building of lasting relationships among students, professors, and practicing professionals. See the links for more information. All students with an interest in engineering applied to building systems are welcome to participate. |
