Don Crowe Professor Don Crowe came to SDSU in 1995. He teaches courses in The Music Industry, Methods and Materials of Instrumental Music Teaching, Supervision of School Music Programs, Technology in Music Education, and Brass Pedagogy. He also teaches low brass lessons and supervises all student teachers and interns in music.
Dr. Crowe received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from Furman University, a Master of Music Degree in Music Theory from Florida State University, and a D.M.A. in Music Education from the University of Arizona. He is a past President of the South Dakota Music Educators Association, and currently serves as Technology Chair and Teacher Education Chair for that organization. He is also a member of the South Dakota Bandmasters Association and Phi Beta Mu, a national honorary fraternity for band directors. Dr. Crowe has served as a clinician and judge in Georgia, Arizona, Missouri, South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota, and enjoys golf, mysteries and science fiction.
