Professor Giago teaches a section of Newswriting and Reporting (MCOM 210), a section of Publicity Methods (MCOM 313) and Advanced Reporting (MCOM 410).


In addition, she is director of the South Dakota High School Press Association and is responsible for the department’s outreach to the state’s high schools in terms of contests, the state-wide press convention, Day-With-A-Legislator program and two weeks of summer institutes. Professor Giago, who is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, has helped department faculty restructure classes to incorporate diversity. She has done similar work for other departments within the university.
