PhD, CPRP
Currently, Dr. Fokken is the coordinator for the Public Recreation Major at South Dakota State University. In 2003, Dr. Fokken received his PhD from Indiana University in Recreation and Park Administration, emphasis in Park and Recreation Management. He also received his M.A. degree from Northern Iowa University in Leisure Services, emphasis, Program Management in 1995 and his B.S. degree from the University of Iowa in Lesiure Studies in 1989. Dr. Fokken has over ten years of practical experience in the park and recreation field as a programmer, supervisor, and director in the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Florida. Dr. Fokken's research interests are in park and recreation board and organizational effectiveness.
