Major Areas: Old English, Middle English, and Old Norse

Dr. Nagy received his Ph.D. from Saint Louis University, and his BA and MA from Kent State University. He began teaching at SDSU in 2001. His teaching and research specializations include Old English and Middle English poetry and Old Norse Edda and Saga, and he teaches courses in Old and Middle English poetry and Arthurian literature. He also teaches courses in other areas of literature and in Advanced Composition. His publications include "A Reassessment of Unferth's Fratricide in Beowulf," and he is currently engaged in research on both MS Harley 2253 and the "wicked queen" motif in medieval English and Scandinavian literature. In addition, he is also an active member of several scholarly organizations including the Midwest Association of Medievalists and the Mid American Medievalists' Association.
