Choose this option if you plan to go to graduate school in clinical or experimental psychology. You must have completed PSYC 303 before beginning this project. With special permission from Dr. Spear and me, you may be able to do this concurrently with PSYC 303.

You will plan, execute, and report on a research project. The size and complexity of the project must reflect the number of credit hours for which you are enrolled. That is, a project for 3 credits will be more extensive than one for 1 credit. The expectation is that for every credit hour you will spend 3 hours per week working on the project. Thus a 3-hour project will involve approximately 135 hours. This includes reading, writing, crunching numbers, etc. NUMBER OF CREDITS ________.

In the second or third week of the semester make an appointment to see me. When you come to the appointment have a list of possible topics. They all must deal with psychological issues. I will approve or disapprove of the topics. Topics must be selected by _____________________.

You will begin reading in the approved topic area that most interests you. If you find the topic boring, you may switch to another topic on your approved list.

Two weeks after your first appointment make a second appointment to present your research proposal. Make the appointment for 1 hour. Appointment #2 must be on or before _________________________.
