There is specific space being created for the CLS program in the program facilities plan. There are currently 19 faculty members, 6 technical and support staff, 34 graduate students, 5 post-doctoral research associates and approximately 150 undergraduates in 3 majors. SDSU Announces a MS degree in Chemistry - Chemical Education Specialization for High School Teachers

Several years ago, high school teachers and administrators across South Dakota were asked to identify the continuing educational needs of chemistry teachers. This study identified the desire and need to strengthen teachers’ chemistry content knowledge. To specifically address this need, the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at South Dakota State University will begin offering a new Master of Science (MS) degree program for chemistry teachers. We are pleased to announce this program and its course offerings that will lead to a MS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Education specialization.
