Short Courses
Three separate full-day short courses will be offered on Sunday, Oct. 4:
  • Sample Preparation for Chromatography, Prof. Harold McNair (Virginia Tech)
  • Solid-Phase Microextraction, Prof. Janusz Pawliszyn (Univ. of Waterloo)
  • Supercritical Fluid Extraction, Prof. Larry Taylor (Virginia Tech)
Cost for the short courses is $200.  Register using the Symposium Registration form.

Opening Reception
A Sunday evening Opening Reception will be held from 6:00-8:00 at the Journey Museum.  The Museum is located about one block from the conference hotel.  The Journey Museum is the education venue that serves as a forum to preserve and explore the heritage of the cultures of the Black Hills region and the knowledge of its natural environment to understand and value our past, enrich our present, and meet the challenges of the future. The Journey Museum brings together four major prehistoric and historic collections to tell the complete story of the Western Great Plains - from the perspective of the Lakota people and the pioneers who shaped its past, to the scientists who now study it.
